My application was returned last week because I forgot to sign it, but they had already given it a number. The number sticker had a big red R on it, I suppose for REJECTED, so I thought maybe they'd assign it a new number once they accepted it. But every now and then I've been checking the old number in the system and lo and behold, today it's there:

..received on September 5, 2006..

so is that the NOA1 date?

I'm not sure if the "received" date is the same as the NOA date .... my NOA makes this distinction:

Received Date: July 3

Notice Date: July 21

And I acutally received the NOA on July 29

6/29 - NEW I-129 mailed to CSC

7/21 - NOA1 issued

9/21 - finally ... my first touch!!

9/21 - NOA2 issued

Wow, that's a huge gap! I wonder what took them so long. Anyway, I'll wait till I get my NOA1 in the mail to determine what that date really means.

Same for me, my received date way August 17th, but my notice date was August 23rd. I'm assuming that's because of the NSC-to-CSC transfer. It got to NSC on th 17th, but by the time it traveled and the case was opening, it was August 23rd.

I sent mine directly back to CSC. I'm hoping that since it shows up on the website that means the case is opened. Not sure, though! Really I'm just happy to see it got there and exists and all that.
