How do I know if USCIS ''touched'' my application?

Hey everybody, I have a question... I've seen posts here, and been watching certains timelines and I always noticed the term ''touched'' in many of them. I also went to uscis' website, to check my case status, but they only have the principals steps, like Innitial Review, Request for Evidence, etc...Didn't see how I could check if they did anything to our application, when and what.

So, since I've seen this term here, I'd like to know HOW and WHERE you people see if they ''touched'' your petition.

03/25/2011- Email and text NOA1, routed to VSC

03/25/2011- Check cashed

your sent a E.MAIL TOUCHED,it says do not reply do not foward uscis, it means your file was scaned moved, looked at,every time it's picked up it's scaned,

When you first log in to Case Status on USCIS, there are 4 columns or so, Emal Alerts, Mobile Alerts, Last Updated, etc. But look at the date under the 'Last Udated' column, if the date changed we call it a touch.

NOA1 - 12/21/15

NOA2 - 04/18/16

NVC Receive - 04/29/16

NVC Welcome - 05/13/16

DS-261 - 05/14/16

AOS, IV PAID - 05/27/16

DS260 done - 06/10/16

Case Transferred to US Embassy in Riga Latvia at the end of October.

If you really want it, you'll find a way!

No usually they don't send you emails, cause touches are generally quite meaningless without knowing why they scanned or moved your package. I, in the past, and many others have got approved without any touches.

Wait, do I have to create an account for that? Because I go to USCIS' website, on the left side put my number and it logs in, then there I see only where it says Initial Review, or to see the processing times. Nothing about what you said, so I suppose I should create an account there to see that?

Yes you have to create an account with your case number, username and password and all.

Ah okay, I saw this " Sign-up for Case Updates", and we got confused because it says for ''multiple cases'', so we thought it didnt't apply for us, but I didn't see this right above it! haha Thankyou for your explanation, I appreciate it :) And I've seen many couples that didn't have any ''touches'' either, guess it really depends.

I never bothered to sign up for anything.. this is my first time to find out what a touch is too :)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Ahh but you're way ahead of me! Congratulations though, I guess it this long journey has been worthing for both huh? :) And this was just a little doubt, seen many couples that don't even have their petitions ''touched''.

3/05/12 (day 3) delivered

3/08/12 (day 6) electronic receipt received

3/09/12 (day 7) checks cashed

3/16/12 (day 14) I-797 received in the mail

3/19/12 (day 17) biometrics notice received, appt for 4/10

3/22/12 (day 20) attempted walk-in and denied (Boston), rescheduled on-the-spot for 4/11

4/11/12 (day 40) successful biometrics appointment

4/23/12 (day 52) received interview notice by mail for 5/29

4/30/12 (day 59) card production ordered

5/07/12 (day 66) card mailed out

5/09/12 (day 68) card arrived

5/29/12 (day 88) interview, application approved, card production ordered
