Hey everyone!

A small question about the required documentation, which includes a police certificate.

I'm not really clear on what I should do.

through this link, I qualify on some things:

I am over 16y old, I moved 2 ever since I was 16,

if I understand it right, that means I need 2? From both the places I lived ever since I turned 16?

Correct me if I'm wrong please!

How many countries have you live more than 6 months since age 16?

Does Belgium have a national police crime database? Most nations have adopted this centralized form of tracking crimes/people. If so then just the one police report will suffice. Some countries still act as regions/states/territories and have no national crime database. In that case separate reports, according to your link, would be necessary. If you are not certain send a brief email with your question to the embassy. I looked on their website but could not immediately determine an answer.

Nope, this is handled by all the name checks that happen during the processing.

Note: Present and former residents of the United States need NOT obtain any U.S. police certificates

Though technically a J-1 is not considered to be a resident of the US, however from everything I have seen no need to try to get certs from the U.S.
