Still no NOA?

Hi, my fiancee sent in the paperwork about 6 weeks ago. The money was taken from our account about 4 weeks ago and we have still not heard anything from them. We've tried calling them and asking them about it but they say they can not talk to us without an alien registration number which I'm assuming comes on the NOA1. Anyone else having a long wait on the NOA1?

Check the back of the cashed check and you will see like WACXXXXXXXXXX and that is your receipt number.

Go to your online bank and you should be able to see the front and back of your cashed check.

So if my fiancee doesn't have internet banking can she just go to the bank and ask too see it?

Yes, get 2 copies from your Bank that the Check was cashed. Then I suggest a INFOPASS with USCIS. Have supporting documents of who you are and show them the Cashed Check. You will have to make an appointment for this.

USCIS does not give information over the phone.

It's a pain but you should have recieved a Hard Copy along time ago.

If you decide to do this, bring proof of who you are.

The back of my check doesn't have the WACxxxxxxxx on the back. The bank they use in Lewisville is the same as mine, Chase Bank. What I do see is this:

JP Morgan Chase

Would the numbers after the # sign be my receipt number?

For us, it's too soon to be expecting our NOA1 since our filing date was only last week.

In this entire process, the most useless document you will ever receive is the NOA1 for the I-129f. It tells you they received ypur petition and the case number. The Alien number does NOT come with the NOA1, it comes with the NOA2. what they are telling you is not accurate, but then it never is. Calling them is the mistake.

They have received your petition, if they didn't they would not have cashed the check. And since you NEVER EVER send anything to the government without delivery confirmation, you also have your delivery confirmation they received it. Your USCIS case number is on the back of the check.

Case number and the acknowledgment of delivery is the only thing the NOA1 provides. You have it.

Move on to preparing things for the interview. Always look ahead...never behind.

I agree with this. The USCIS should be able to decipher any number on the back of the cashed check. Your fiance should also bring a copy of the I-129F application form that was submitted if you have one.

And what?

You get the numbers make an infopass appointment and they decipher the numbers...Great! now what? It is an awful lot of work to tewll you they have your case when you already know that. Good grief.

To the OP. They have your case. Start working on your interview documents.

:wow:

What if there was an RFE and he never got it?

It is better to get information now regarding the receipt number so he can track it.

Let us say, the OP followed your advice and he DOES NOT do anything and it has been a couple of months.

Let us say, the processing date just past his receipt date.

He goes to USCIS to try to find out what his receipt number to begin with.

The USCIS tells him, why didn't you inquire about your application and the status a long time ago?

What if the USCIS tells him "We sent you RFE due to missing information on the I-129F"?

Now What?

Yes. On the far right side there are another series.

Other than that, nothing else that would seem significant. If need be, I could figure out a way to PM you with a picture of the check.

At what point should we start getting ready for her interview? I filed only last week. I know that there will be some things that we can do now, but from what I've been reading, the vast majority of things can wait for about another month or two; her CENOMAR, NBI and renewing her passport, for example.

For you, your Receipt Date would be either 04/08/2011 or 04/07/2011. You will get your NOA1 in about a week. You need to get her ready all her paperworks. Getting CENOMAR, NSO Birth Certificate takes whole day and sometimes she will have to come the following day if there lots of people trying to obtain NSO documents. Inform you fiancee to bring a male relative when she goes to NSO or while trying to get her documents. There are lots of thieves around NSO pretending to be customers. The sooner she gets her documents ready, she will be able to get it corrected if there are mistakes on the documents. Also, it will cost lots of money to obtain those documents. I would suggest to send money via Western Union and have her take a picture when she gets her money at Western Union branch in the Philippines. Let her keep the documents from Western Union. Don't forget to send her card via USPS (Do not include cash on the card because it will end up missing including the card).

Case numbers are not always printed on the backs of checks. Why this is - I don't know. I just know that there are many inconsistencies in this process and this is one of them.

Since I went through the same thing 6-7 months ago, I will give you advise based on my own experience. I contacted USCIS and asked to speak with a level 2 representative. I was told that my petition was mailed out and returned to them as undeliverable. The woman was very helpful and was able to give me my case number and priority date over the phone. She also placed a request to have a duplicate NOA1 sent out to me.

Keep in mind that not all level 2 representatives are helpful but there are some that are very friendly and will provide you with this information at your request. If you are not receiving the information you need from one representative, hang up and call back to try to talk to someone else.

I sent her a Valentine's Day card, which she still has. I send her money via Western Union quite often for her OB check-ups (we're expecting our first child in October). I had heard that the NBI and CENOMAR were only good for 6 months. That's the reason I was thinking about waiting for a month or two before sending her for these. Any idea how much (an amount in Pesos is fine) I'll have to send? Keep in mind that her Philippine passport is currently expired and needs to be renewed.

Passport used to be 1300+ pesos or more

NBI 200+ pesos or more. I think NBI clearance is good for 1 year but she can inquire.

NSO 300+ pesos or more

Remember they have eat to lunch. 1 female and 1 male relative to escort her should be good when she goes out to get any type of documentations.

I suggest to have them take a taxi if they live within the city.

There are too many thieves in a jeepney pretending to be passenger.

If thieves see you wearing nice watch, jewelry, purse, etc., they will just ask you to hand it to them. If you don't they will just stab you and still grab what they want. It's sad. :(

If you want to save money on communications.

She needs Globe SIM card or Sun SIM card on her cell phone. She can buy a 50 pesos prepaid card that allows her to call any US phone for about 25 minutes. It is way cheaper for her to call you than for you to call her.

This will be later after she gets her K1 visa

CFO Seminar 250 pesos

CFO Sticker 400 pesos
