Going back in May for 10 days, with Chris' family. First visit since I moved here! Our families will meet for the first time! We're having a reception/cookout to celebrate us getting married! I can't wait!!! Poutine!!! We decided to fly to Boston from Richmond (140$ a person, both ways) and then rent a car (500$ for 10 days)... Not too bad I guess!

No plans in the immediate future - my mom and aunt are coming for Easter. I used to able to get flights from TO to Richmond for under 300, but they have gone up too. And like Flames said, drag with the baggage fees. I got lucky and found a cheap ticket last Christmas from Norfolk to Calgary for $650, but of course had to pay an additional $120 for luggage, still was cheaper than I thought it was going to cost.

Hey Flames where are you moving to?

Yummy!!!! That sounds like a great reception to me! Can I come? hehe

We just got back from a big trip; flew up to Winnipeg end of Feb, then flew to Victoria and stayed there for about 6 days, then flew all the way back. Hubby is from Victoria, but I'd never been - loved it!! So beautiful!!! It was a great trip...except for all the flying! It was sooo expensive, and our flights kept getting cancelled and delayed! Unless we have to cross an ocean, we're driving from now on!!

Eligible for N-400 early based on Section 329 of the INA, Service During Hostilities

I don't have any concrete plans yet, but we're planning on going up for a week sometime in August. Flights seem so expensive right now! I guess it's still not as bad as the price we paid at Christmas time. That sucked a lot...

I usually go "home" every 6 weeks or so. Was last there end of February so I'm due. I'm thinking early May once university exams are done and we can celebrate both of my son's birthdays and Mother's Day. I'm really missing Canada lately. :(

I'm really hoping we can go back in the fall or something. I miss home a lot, I miss my family and Harvey's. Funny thing is I haven't really been "homesick" until the last couple days. Now I'm like tearing up thinking of my family. By the time we can go back though it will be almost 2 years since I was there.

Me too :( I never thought I'd miss Welland, but I do!

My parents are doing a bunch of home renovations, and I keep having these weird dreams that I go home and the house is completely different and I can't find anything.

Aww! I have some bad days too where I'm like "anti living in the U.S." and miss good ole' Canadian soil. Other times I'm okay, I'll admit, I cry EVERY time I leave though!

Poutine - DELISH! That's one thing I sort of forget to eat each time I'm home...I'm more of a Timmy's girl!

I'm really lucky, we typically can get $49/one way with Southwest from DC to Buffalo. Of course, if it's a Friday/Monday flight don't count on it. Sometimes they have great sales too....

Well it's been since Christmas of 2009 since I've been in Canada, so next trip there will be next month in May for a whopping 3 hours. I have a layover in Toronto en route to Eastern Europe so I will spend it looking at the airport.

I am going to try and go up in Aug for a long weekend or something if I can get a good flight. My two brothers will be there and so if I can go it'll be the first time all of us are together for a few days at least. Won't be much of a trip, but will try and get to Toronto for a day if I can...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...

I was just home at the beginning of March, so I don't know when I will get back. I would love to be home for Christmas, but with Si and I both starting new jobs (I will have to go back to work in July :crying: ) I doubt we will be able to get time off. Not only will it be Christmas, but also Emma's 1st birthday and I would have liked for my family to be able to share in that.

I may live 11 hours from home....but so many people live much, much farther! So I'm lucky that way.

My grandmothers on both sides have been wanting to come visit us. My poor mother now is taking them! (what a trooper) They're coming down in August. It'll be interesting have 2 dutch grandmothers and one mother in the house! I think my husband may move away that weekend B-)

In Canada now. Will be back Monday, then Tuesday, Wed, Thurs.... Although, don't really consider it "home" more like "work". lol I do need to go "home" to the cottage at the lake soon to check and make sure it hasn't washed away with the spring thaw.

We were actually back in Montreal last weekend. Every year Jeff's family does the Cabin de Sucre and it's SO good. I brought my dad with us this year.

We're lucky enough to only live about 4.5 hours away from his family so I think going back for holidays and family stuff should be fairly easy. Although I think Jeff is actually just happy to get away from them and out on his own. :)
