I am sick and tired of this stupid hospital. My fiance had to go there 4 days because she got annulled for psychiatric reasons, being the only way she could leave her ex-husband, then they made her go to another hospital in Queson City where we had to pay 1000 pesos to St Luke's and 3500 pesos to this other hospital. She has her interview this next week but they are still delaying our paperwork. They even admitted that there is nothing wrong with her. But this is a way St. Luke's scams US citizens into paying more for their services. Either this way or saying you have a spot on your lungs so they can delay you and make them pay more for their services. I want to file a complaint to the Embassy. Does anyone know if we do not have a completed medical if she still can have her interview. Because it now looks like it will not be finished before the interview. I think we are lucky I am not there or I would cause a scene about this.

The philippines has no divorce and if she is able to pay about $102 usd in order to get annulled fully, and jump through a few hoops I don't think its that bad personally? I dont know about the finding a spot on the lungs thing yet, if they scam or not . But compare the cost of a basic divorce in the usa, is about $300 to $600 at the least, then if she only has to pay those few fees for annulment then its not so bad

Our problem now is that they said the medical exam results won't be available before our scheduled interview. I don't want to have to reschedule because I'm sure nothing is left except for maybe next month. Does anyone know if she can still go to the interview without medical exam results? That damn hospital delayed 4 days then told her she had to go to another hospital to have psych exam, then they said the director is sick for more than one week so we cannot have results and now interview is this Tuesday.

Yep, Just another scam to get more money from US Citizens, Welcome to paying "Long Nose" prices.

Another kick in the teeth if you admit to drug use in Philippines then you will get a lifetime ban to USA, but in other countries you can admit to drug use and it's ok.

My main issue with St. Lukes is USCIS is that we have thousands of Illegal Aliens crossing into the USA from Mexico and they carry disease, poverty, crime into the USA and once they can make it into the USA then they are treated like royalty. They are given free medical, their kids get to go to school for free, they suck the welfare system dry by getting free food and financial and housing assistance.

To top it off, You walk into a place and the signs are in English and Spanish, Excuse Me I thought I lived in the USA.

i don't think that they will allow to have her interview without the medical result from SLMCEC

Take a deep breath and relax. The more you panic, the worse things will get. From your description of the prior marriage, once SLEC is done with with your fiancée, chances are you will face even more scrutiny at the embassy. Don't be surprised if your case gets referred to the fraud unit. I am not saying it will, but it meets their criteria for a rather nasty interrogation. Good luck, keep praying, be strong, and hope things work out at the end.

st. luke's in ermita is not a hospital, it's just a clinic for immigration purposes that's why it's called st. luke's medical extension clinic (SLEC)..

st. luke's in quezon city is the main hospital and it's called st. luke's medical center quezon city..

it is the best hospital in the philippines that's why it's the only hospital accredited by the US, canada and new zealand to do their immigration medical exams..

the medical for visa is very important and complicated, im not sure if you read the posts here abt medical experiences but SLEC is very strict because the USEM requires them to be..

she can't go to her interview without finishing her medical because it is the requirement to do the medical before the interview..

as i remember after the medical, SLEC holds the passports and medical records then SLEC fowards them to the USEM..

also, even if u file a complaint to the USEM, it's never gonna help because it is the USEM who gave SLEC those stupid procedures..

Now because the psych wards director is sick for a week we are going to have our interview delayed 1-1.5 months later. We left plenty of time between when we started the medical to when we scheduled out appointment and now they have screwed everything up. Now, I will even have to send last years tax documents over also.

i know it sucks but the SLEC and USEM take psych issues seriously..

i remember one girl i met during my interview has a really light and tiny scratch on her left arm near her wrist..

it's not even that visible but just because they do inspect your body including your arms (for marks),

she went to the same psych process because they think she tried to commit suicide in the past..

so since your wife has a legal record of psych thingy from her annulment, they have to do a strict and stupid process..

sucks more because of the people doing the paperworks!

I actually agree fully with tallcoolone on this, and I normally don't care much for his posts. I also think the comment about Illegal Aliens is reasonably on topic.

happyndinlove, your comment is rather devoid of logic.

Using the word "they" is not unfair, blanketing, or racist. The word "they" in his post is contextually defined as the illegal aliens. He didn't say Mexicans or Hispanics, he said illegal aliens. He happened to be even more specific saying "crossing from Mexico". It is well known that some portion of the illegals crossing from Mexico are not actually from Mexico, but also from other Central American countries, and even some from elsewhere such as the middle east. The things he mentioned they are bringing in (poverty, disease, crime) are things which the US Embassy, USCIS, etc., are all working hard to keep out. Poverty, by ensuring the petitioners can support the beneficiary, or that the beneficiary can support his or herself. Disease, by way of the myriad medical examinations/screenings. Crime, by way of thorough background checks, supplemented by the NBI and local police paperwork requirements.

It's quite frustrating that the current administration is actively working to continue allowing the stream of illegals from Mexico. A few reasons it's very frustrating:

--> The number 1 reason for many in our situation (on the Visa Journey) is that WE'RE FOLLOWING THE RULES, while no effort is made to enforce the rules for millions of others.

--> They are indeed given more entitlements than any other group. Illegals can go to a hospital and get treated for whatever, and there's no recourse for the hospital to collect payment. The schools in illegal-saturated districts have free breakfast and lunch, the breakfasts look like a 5-star hotel's breakfast buffet, and the kids routinely fill their trays and throw more than half of it away. The State of Oregon was getting a lot of heat a couple years ago for having government operated gatherings for illegal aliens where they were given information on how to collect many social services benefits AND GIVEN VOTER REGISTRATION INFORMATION.

The melting pot aspect of America is fantastic. But it does not include "inviting" millions of immigrants without any logical screening. Liberals love to reference the days when ships full of immigrants would land in New York. A major difference from then to know is that all those individuals were screened and documented on arrival, and they were legal. The vast majority of them were given NOTHING when they came here, and expected nothing but opportunities. Nearly all of them made a specific effort to learn English, and never demanded anything be written or spoken in their language. Most taught their children English first, and often had household rules requiring English be spoken at home.

The melting pot does not involve a giant hole in our immigration practices, where ANYONE can get in the country, collect free money, free food, free medical care, not have to learn English, not pay taxes, etc., as long as they physically come across the Mexican-US border. The people who come here illegally specifically tend to not want to melt into the cultural pot. This is why so many services are being offered in Spanish -often Spanish being the first choice and English being the second.

Filipinos, and people from just about everywhere else, who come here Legally, melt just fine. They embrace our culture, learn our language (not plural), respect our borders, and obey our laws.

I should point out that the problem is not the illegal aliens themselves. Rather, it is with our own government not enforcing our existing laws, and actively undermining any efforts to do so.

I'm German and English by ancestry, but I'm 100% American by culture. Well, maybe I contain a growing percentage of Filipino culture now...

:wow: That was a lenghty (and rather pompous) diatribe.

All the work you put into writing that post...it's a shame it all gets blown away with 2 questions.....ready?

Are you stating that ALL (Mexican) illegal's bring poverty, disease, and crime to America... and that... "THEY" ALL prey on America's vulnerable benefits system?

Re-read his phrasing Kevin...he doesn't say...some...or most....he says..."they". As in...all.

Kevin:

The melting pot example was in response to his complaint about Spanish being a service option.

It's naive and arrogant to think that English should be the only language spoken in a country populated by the world.

(and) Wake up...the Spanish speaking population is a rapidly growing and soon to be dominant demographic.

Kevin --I would like to know where I can collect free food . free money , free medical care and not pay taxes . Whats state allows that ???? Many are coming across from Cuba , Haiti and even from Canada . I am sure if the Philippines shared a border with the USA --Philippines would be EMPTY by now  Dont stigmatise one people . Many Mexicans come to work to help thier families and go back home. Besides many business in States like Arizona , California and Texas depends on the income spent by the very ''illegal immigrants ''. This is a fact --take thier spending power out of the equation and many small bussiness will fail in those states .I am not saying it is right to come here illegally , but if persons can work honestly and abide by the rules -it is ok .

It is also a fact that these same people take the menial and low paying jobs that no one wants . It is also a fact that Immigrants build this country where it is now --Believe it or not .
