So, I´ve read somewhere that while u r waiting for the AOS u just have -no status-, so u can´t work,

until you get the EAD or the GC.

can´t drive,

State-specific....in Illinois she needed her GC in order to get her own driver's license but before that she had a Driver's Learner's permit which allowed her to drive as long as there was a licsened driver in the car with her.

can´t study,

Say's who. She enrolled no problem at the local community college.

etc. What do you do? Do you have to live on your spouse´s money?

If you brought your own money, you can use that.

What do you to buy groceries or go to the gym?

Same answer as above.

How do you entertain yourself?

What about your spouse. Remember him/her?

I see it as a waste of life, or perhaps I should see it as a long vacation?.....

Big decision to make.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

While I was waiting for my Green Card, I was the best housewife in the world  I cleaned the house and cook everyday. I also do volunteer work for half day to keep me busy. It's fun. Every weekend, we always go weekend gateaway and explore California. We did loads of hike too. My husband give me allowance every month.

Now, I'm in college and I miss life while waiting for Green Card. Just enjoy your life while waiting for Green Card

You're thinking about this far too negatively! Think of all the great parts about it like...great, I don't have to work for a while! Or how about this one...waste of life, no way, I'm finally with my love!!!! ;)

Well, it´s not that I want to be negative but I was hoping I could catch up with a Master´s degree I started over there but seems like I won´t be able to make it due to the time it takes to get the AED and the AOS which the university requires from me in order to enroll ( it´s a complicated situation ). Anyways, being with my honey will be very good so whatever that comes after that will be OK.
