I think we are talking about different things here.

I wholeheartedly support equal rights for men and women under the rule of law,

equal opportunity in employment and education, equal protection from violence

for all persons, etc.

But having equal legal rights doesn't mean that husbands and wives should treat

each other as equals. Respect must be earned, and if a woman lets her husband

treat her like #######, why would he ever respect her or treat her as an equal?

If you are referring to having sex with a 15 year old female in Thailand as illegal, you are incorrect. In Thailand, this is legal. I am not passing judgement as to whether or not this is proper, but your statement about this being illegal is incorrect.

I think you are incorrect. It is illegal. It's also illegal for an adult United States citizen to go overseas and have sex with minors. USC's. if caught will be dragged back to the U.S., and charged. There have been a number of cases of this happening, and many americans in prison for taking part in the sex tourism with kiddies industry...here's just one of MANY examples of one sick 57 year old ####### that had sex with underage boys.....oh and jeez, it just HAPPENS to be an article from the DOHS. Bottom line is we have to draw the line somewhere Cian. In the US, we draw that line at 18 for intimate relations. I'm not going to argue with you about it, I'm just telling you what is and isn't illegal.

I don't know what the statistics are, and I'm not about to waste my time looking that up, but i would take a guess and say the percentage of 17 year olds with kids would be very low. In my particular neighborhood, I'd say maybe .05%. That's NOT a large percetage is it?

I'm from the "country" of Indiana.

In Indianapolis, try something closer to 10-20% of under-18 girls having kids.

The statewide teen pregnancy rate and rank for Indiana is:

Indiana Rate (per 1000) 73 State Rank 20

That's 7.3% for the entire state. Of all teens, 7.3% have kids. My area is higher.

North Dakota has the lowest rate, by the way.... 4.2%

Nevada has the highest rate with 11.3%.
