Hi again everyone,

Back with another question, this time concerning the fees for naturalization. Do you send one check for the total amount for both the filing fee and the biometrics? Or do you send two separate checks, one for the application fee and the other for biometrics?

Did you read the instructions? it says right in the N-400 instructions " You may submit one check or money order with both application and biometric fee. "

Is that truly necessary? I'm looking at the M-479, and the payment instructions could be interpreted either way.

Prefer to send a personal check for $680.00, that way you have a canceled check for proof you sent in your application.

Just one check, maybe some of us have noticed, have to pay the USCIS in advance with no guarantee we will be granted US citizenship. No refunds either.

I looked up that check list and yes mentioning the instructions for N-400, its needed. N-400 is the actual form, would one not read the instructions for the forms you are filling out instead of just going from a check list page?

Also, the M-479 paper, states the fee of 680$ is payed by check or money order. One fee, One check/money order. It doesn't say "the fee of $595 and $85 must be payed by" etc etc.
