That was the update, confirming receiving of document. It will be forwarded for review.

Generic reply from the consulate as follow, We ask that applicants allow for 8 weeks of processing time from the day we receive the documents at post.

Every case is different, since you say you are in the technology field..it will probably take a bit of the time to do background check on you.

ok

and In my case officer asked me to email CV, not hard copy by post.

and i got 2 reply's, first was generic reply "auto-reply email" got back in couples of min and second was next day someone replayed back from office.

these were contents..

Good morning,

Thank you for your email!

Kindly note we have received the attached document and it has been forwarded for review. As soon as we have an update on the status of the case we will gladly advise you.

Best regards,

Hi Jasbir,

We are undergoing the same process as you. You can check our timeline for details.

We also had the interview in window no 7. Same questions and same result. I am also working in the domain of computer networks. Furthermore we had the same set of emails response from the montreal embassy.

I was equally shocked as you when the CO handed over the 221g but what can we do. At this point we can only wait, keep praying to god almighty to help us guide through these times of helplessness and continue with our daily lives and wait for the process to complete.

I hope my response provides some form of support and that u are not the only one and if ur love and faith is true, god will definitely help us.

Kind regards,

ConiMoni

Thanks ConiMoni,

In Caec I noticed dates are updating, does it means they are working on it or its just random

today it shows Status Updated Date: 20-Jan-2016

yesterday it was 15-JAN

before it was 13 JAN (interview day)

and Is there any preference for US citizen. IR-1/CR-1 visa.

I-130 time it asked who you are, citizen or green card holder.

Hi Jasbir,

I am not sure about the preference. Per my understanding the preference for cases with citzen or green card petitioners is considered while the case is at NVC. So based on my educated guess, once a case is at a consulate and the interview is completed, the administrative processing does not have a preference.

As for the case updates we did notice an update on interview date i.e jan 6, then jan 7 and then jan 11.. No updates since then.

If i notice any new updates, i shall keep updating this thread.

Kind regards,

ConiMoni

Yes, they are working on it.. Background checks could vary from 1-2 weeks.

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. As the officer told you in the interview, if further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved when administrative processing is finished, you will receive notification to collect the passport with the visa from the Loomis branch you selected when you booked your appointment.
