So I called USCIS to tell them about my petition being outside of normal processing times, which they agreed that it was and suggested to do a service request at this time. Since according to my received date on my NOA1 its October 22, 2010. So after all the questions and what not, she tells me that VSC is currently working on Sept. 11, 2010 petitions and therefore my petition is not outside normal processing times and that in about 41 DAYS!!!! they "should" be working on October petitions!!!. So I said just because they are working on the Sept, 11 petitions doesnt mean they are within normal processing times because according to the USCIS website they are still within their stated goal of 5 months and my petition is still outside that 5 month mark regardless of if they are working on Sept. or July for that matter!!! :bonk: :bonk:

Ughhhh they are soooo infuriating  Why is it that we are paying so much money again??? if in turn we are not getting results as efficient and in a timely manner as they should be.

yeah i think u r right..... it seems that they update the data (or dates) once in a month... so whenever we call them and ask what date they are working on, they just tell the date which they last updated... rt?

i feel for you guys. the first time i called i was told they were processing sept 11th petitions. the second time around i called after the 14 of march and they told me they are processing sept 25th petitions. i filed an I-130 for my husband which may explain the date difference but since then i've called three more times and they are still stuck on sept 25th. they keep telling me to call again in two weeks. in two weeks it'll almost be 6 months since i filed. i don't get why the website says they are still averaging 5 months to approve a petition when they clearly aren't even letting people put in service requests until they have been waiting 6 months or more. they should either update their website or at least give those of us who have patiently waited our 5 months the service requests that we ask for. if you have to wait 6 months to put in a service request then the website should say they are averaging 6 months to approve petitions.

i've already drafted a letter to my congressman which i will hopefully be sending tomorrow. at this point it seems like it is the only thing i can do to try and get them to stop ignoring my petition.

i wish all of you guys luck and hopefully soon we will all start to get our approvals

I had help from my senator and he couldn't get anything accomplished until our 6th month. VSC said they would expedite for being "Outside Normal Processing Time" if you were 30 days PAST the Regular Processing Time of 5 months. He emailed again right at 6 months and now we are being expedited... realize that the first response was only 7 days before 6 months...

Why is it that we are paying so much money again???

To bring our loved ones here to marry and to spend the rest of our lives with.

I understand the anger, but that IS why I paid the money at least.

I&jj can u post a sample of your letter?

I grabbed this from someone else and then I added the info I was given the 4 or 5 times that I called. I also complained a little bit about the fact that they won't let me put in a service request right now, knowing that I have waited more than 5 months already, and about how the USCIS website still says 5 month estimated processing time when really it seems they are taking 6 or 7 months to process a case. Hope this helps.
