civil surgeons

Called one civil surgeon today and he wanted to do a complete phyical, told him ivys medical was less than one year old.He told me so what it was the complete phyical or nothing for 500.00 dollars. I called another one and they say ivy and my step daughter had to have the TB test and STD test and he would charge 300.00 dollars for each one.I told him you must be joking about STD test for my step daughter cause she was only 9 years old!Gonna call some more tomorrow.

I can't believe that so many doctors approved by the USCIS try so hard to rip off new immigrants who obviously already incurred enough expenses with their recent move to another country, and won't be allowed to work for several months. This is a real shame. For what they really have to do (a secretary with no medical education whatsoever filling in a form with numbers copied from another form) $50 is already too high. I have always wondered why the form we got at the US consulate is not enough, since it's the exact same thing, written in English by a doctor referred to by the US consulate.
