Hi all,

I just wanted to get a feel for if the amount of time passed already with my process is normal.

I'm the Alien fiance from Australia and my USA sponsor submitted the forms approximately the 9th of February this year. (We made the Big mistake of not sending it by Certified/Registered mail).

Anyway, we haven’t heard anything yet. She also submitted the email and phone? notification forms so I would have thought we would have heard something by now.

The cheque has not been cashed yet.

Also we've rung the Department a few times and they have changed their storey a little each time, but basically said the first part of processing the application has been going up and up in the past few months and is likely to be about 30 to 60 days at the moment. Does that sound right?

Cheers,

Steve.

If your cheque hasn't been cashed yet, I would probably cancel it with the bank, and send out a new package... you're going on 6 weeks now...

Man, it's a tough call... it shouldn't take them even 2 weeks to cash it, usually... but who knows...?

No, about a week to 2 weeks for the NOA1. It is just acceptance. Nothing more. To take 2 months for NOA1 is an awful long time. History shows that NOA1 is a quick step. The longer step is NOA2.

If you filed the I-129F in february this year, it probably means you sent it to the Texas lockbox just like we did, so you still don't know the service center it has been sent to.

What kind of package did you sent? Regular mail or express mail?

I'm not so familiar with US shipping but I guess express mail demand a signature when it's delivered, so I'm wondering maybe you sent it with express mail to the Texas lockbox, and no one was there to sign the delivery?

From the I-129 F instructions:

U.S. Postal Service (USPS) deliveries:

USCIS

P.O. Box 660866

Dallas, TX 75266

Express mail and courier deliveries:

USCIS

ATTN: HRIFA

2501 S. State Hwy. 121 Business

Suite 400

Lewisville, TX 75067

Maybe it's not because of this, but I'm just suggesting.. Hope everything will go just fine.
