Korean Airlines

My wife will be returning home next week on Korean Airlines. She was booked round trip on Korean air, but due to the winter storms in the USA back in January, she was re-booked on Delta all the way to Manila.

She is a little worried since she has never flown on Korean Air and has to change planes in Seoul, which neither one of us have ever flown through.

Any reviews or tips for her flight home? She flies Manila to Seoul, changes planes to fly on to Atlanta, then flies Delta to Nashville where I will be waiting to pick her up.

She has been over there the past couple of months as her father battled cancer, then helping her mom with the funeral and getting everything in order after her father's death.

No worries . . . I've flown Korean Air for a number years to visit OEMs for my previous employer. They are very competent, food is good, roomy and comfortable for Economy class . . . They did have some training issues a while back where they managed to fly a couple of Airbus A3XX airplanes into the ground (controlled flight into terrain is the terminology I believe is used). Those class of aircraft require a more in-depth pilot training than they were giving at the time. Some of the China airlines were doing this as well . . .they are now much more commited to providing proper pilot training for these aircraft. Since the A3XX aircraft are fly by wire, and have automated systems to manage the aircraft in case of unusual attitudes or pilot incapacity, they are managed quite differently let say from a standard 747 or 737 aircraft . . . I would not hesitate to fly them again . . . . I flew ANA recently, another good airline that is now code shared with Continental - my 'home' airline. Unfortunately, Korea Air stopped their participation w/Continental code share about a year ago or so . . .

Fly them . . .they are fine!

Ditto the above. Absolutely THE BEST airline I have flown in the past 6 years. ICN is a simple airport, very clean and nicely laid out. KAL will be my choice for flying back and forth. They are also a Delta partner, so mileage racks up.

agree with the reviews above. i've flown Korean Air a few times in the past going to and from the Philippines. i've never had any problems with them. although the language barrier may be a little hard when you're asking one of their flight attendants for water or what have you.
