You dont renew it. You file for removal of conditions.

You have 2 years of proof that you are living the married life with co-mingled finances etc.

Go look at the removal of conditions guide. Hope you can get enough evidence from the past 2 years for proof!

Hello:

Could you please advise on how to start renew process for I-485 Green Card (married to USC) which initially was issued for 2 years. What forms to use for use? I can't find guidelines on this forum. Please advise. Thank you!

You don't 'renew' the I-485. The one that was issued originally was a conditional 2 year card. During the window of time between when the card expires and 90 days before it expires, you and your spouse need to submit form I-751 requesting the removal of the conditions on permanent residency. There is a forum about the process here on Visa Journey: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/86-removing-conditions-on-residency-general-discussion/

Basically, you need to complete the form and provide lots of documentary evidence that proves how you have mingled together your financial, personal and social lives. You are proving to USCIS that you have a real marriage and submit papers from over the last 2 years that prove you are living as a married couple, sharing the responsibilities and the liabilities together.

You need to submit this before the 2 year green card expires. When you do, you will receive a NOA receipt that will tell you that your permanent resident status has been extended for one year. You need to carry this receipt with the green card (make a copy of it and keep the original receipt safe in your files) to prove you still have legal status in the US.

The I-751 - Removal of Conditions petition - can take a few months up to a year or so to be processed. You may be requested to provide more 'proof' if you don't send enough, and you may or may not be required to attend an interview. When it is approved, the PR status becomes permanent and you receive a green card valid for 10 years. You can renew that card every 10 years. You can't renew the 2 year card.

There are pinned topics at the top of the forum I linked here. You should get a lot of your questions answered by reading the link.

Note - it is very important that you apply no earlier than 90 days before the green card expires and no later than the expiry date of the green card. Good luck.
