I have now abandoned the pending K-1 process and started the CR1 application, as we recently got married in China.

Wish me good luck! I prepared everything and my initial I-130 application package is 120 pages long!!! Based on text message I received on my cell phone, they received it and assigned it a case number already.

Now what is the proper procedure to withdraw the previously filed and pending I-129F application? Would a letter to CSC be sufficient. Do I need to do more. How can I get them to complete the background check anyway, so they can speed up my new I-130 case by skipping the already done background check?

Withdraw I129F ASAP because having these two pending at the same time will surely delay your I-130 rather then helping it. Because while background check of your I-129, they are going to find out about your I-130 petition and that will at least create some confusion. I hope you put that info in your I-130 when they asked you if you have ever filed a petition for this or any other beneficiary.

Yaap just a letter with the CIS case number to the center that is processing I-129F with a request to withdraw will do and if you want you can also mention that you are withdrawing because you decided to marry in China and have already filed I-130.

I am almost out of TSC blackhole.
