I got married to my wife on 1st july,2010. We filed for the AOS after that. We were called for an interview on feb 8th, 2011 at the USCIS kansas city office. Our interview went really good. Our interviewer was a lady in her mid forties and she was really nice and polite. After the interview she said that the last process in our AOS remains and that is a FBI background check. she also took away my EAD and my i-94 card and she said that i do not need them anymore. Its been almost more than a month and I havent heard from USCIS since. Their online case status does not show any updates either. I was just wondering how much time does it usually take in this case to get the permanent resident card approval letter. Please reply.

My wife and stepson's interview was the 10th of February (in Kansas City, MO) and sounds like we had the same person but to let you know they both received their GC's on the 19th of February. You may need to call the USCIS Call Center but when you get in contact with someone tell them you want to talk to a teir 2 person, they will try and not do it but continue telling them you want to, this person can see more on there screen then the call center and they can check into it more.

AOS:

Green Card APPROVAL for wife and stepson 02/10/2011

Revd'd Green Cards for wife and stepson today 02/19/2011
