Hi VJ friends! We are almost complete with my adjustment of status package we still have a couple of things pending and one of those things is that I read on the guide for AOS for K1 that needed to translate my birth certificate. Is this really necesary? adn if so where can I translate it? IS there any authorized translator they request? Please help I need to submit this before april 16th which is when my k1 visa expires

I'm not sure if my situation is the same as I was giving my wife's birth certificate to the embassy in Bogota for a CR-1 visa (DCF). But, at least for us, you could use anyone to translate it. In fact, we translated both the birth certificate and wedding certificate ourselves into English. And in the packet we were recently sent it said that all document not in English had to be translated into English but that it didn't have to be a certified translator

Tx dave it does! the thing is that in the VJ AOS guide it says it has to be translated that's it. I assume I can do it myself but I just want to make sure ;D

There are many online services that can do this for you. Here is the mail for a service I used. 'sales@worldaccesstrans.com' I believe it was around 40.00
