Hi everyone as you can tell...I am fairly new to this website.

I have a few questions and concerns regarding my case and am hopeful to get some answers from someone...I would really appreciate it

Heres my situation

First my sister who is a USC because she married a USC petitoned my mother and she got her residency instantly. Her paperwork was filed July 2010 and by August 24 2010 her green card was in the mail.

My mother has now petitioned me (Permanent Resident filling for spouse or unmarried child) I am 18 and not married.

She sent my I-130 paperwork in October 2010 and we recieved our reciept Nov 2010 my PD is Nov 10 2010

Online my case status for the I-130 remains in Initial Review... we are expecting a responce sometime in April since the national goal and avg is 5 mnths also for CSC which last time we called USCIS they said it had been transferred there already.. I hope that i am not one of these (http://www.visajourney.com/news/2011/02/18/cases-processed-in-delayed-immediate-relative-petitions-form-i-130-at-texas-service-center/)

I am currently in the US with a visa. My question is if and after my i 130 is accepted what happens does the i 485 have to be filed automatically or are we supposed to wait till the PD is current because with all this retrogression stuff I am really worried and dont know how long that would take... also is the i 130 PD the one Im supposed to be basing the visa availability on or is another reciept with a different PD supposed to come in with the i 485 . im sorry i have so many questions I hope someone is willing to anwer me. Again, I would really appriciate it

First, in your I-130 approval notice, you can see the priority date assigned which is mostly the date u sent ur i-130 petition..

The priority date in the I-130 will be used throughout ur visa journey till the interview date is assigned..

Once ur petition is approved( Keep calling them, the online status is not updated faster..) and ur priority dates are in the visa bulletin, then u can go ahead for the I485..

Good Luck..
