You are aware that the money for the bonuses came from the bail-outs, yes?

You know the bail-outs that were provided by the taxpayers.

Once Wall Street accepted our tax dollars to bail them out, they lost that claim that they were investor supported. Without our tax dollars, they wouldn't exist and the investors would have lost everything.

Instead of worrying about teachers making 30, 40, 50 thousand dollars plus benefits, who reinvest their income into their communities, pay taxes and support the local economy; you should be worrying about the investment bankers that took our tax dollars, to receive their sometimes Million dollar bonuses and either banked it or invested in foreign countries.

The misconception is that taxpayers 'bailed' them out.

Taxpyers haven't done much of anything in awhile, other than get taxed.

The FED bailed them out and added it to our tab is more accurate in what happened.

Absolutely, but that is a separate issue. The hypocrisy is that Fox believes that union contracts can be broken and should be broken because the public employees are paid with tax dollars and we are in financial straits. However when we were in even worst dire straits, the contracts with Wall Street concerning bonuses couldn't be broken; even though Wall Street, like the Public Unions received taxpayers dollars. Their contracts had to be honored...or else, we would lose the best and brightest.

Either you believe that contracts can be re-visited and altered to reflect the changes that are occurring in the economy or you don't. If you pick and choose based on your own personal agenda, then you are a hypocrite.

You're comparing apples to oranges for one.

Federal tax dollars are not a part of these union contracts. Actually the hypocrisy of the Dems at the Federal level is that federal workers aren't afforded collective bargaining rights at all.

in Wisconsin and other states, teachers are paid by state taxes, not Federal.

There's no hypocrisy at all by anyone when you look at it in the proper context.

So many people get caught up with us being a singular entity as a nation, that they forget we aren't supposed to be. we are 50 individual states who operate in different fashions. It's the job of the Federal Government to ensure we are able to do so and not to impede that.

How long do these contracts run for?

If they have an annual contract, is only seems fair (and legal) to honor them.

If they have some arraignment where the contracts are good until "re negotiated"..... it's time.

The debate represented by this never actually happened?

Some misconceptions in the final definitions for "under the constitution"

2 votes in Senate for each state; representation by population in House (Art.I, Secs. II., III)

The 17th amendment killed this and any state representation at the Federal Level.

Congress to regulate both foreign and interstate commerce (Art. I, Sec. VIII, para. 3)

Yet the Feds take it upon themselves to control in-state commerce as well, which is not within their power.

Extensive power in Congress to levy taxes (Art. I, Sec. VIII, para. 1)

Actually it's not extensive at all. It gives restriction on laying taxes, not 'you can tax what you want.' - Of course the dirty little secret of how they got beyond this is the Federal Reserve Act of 1913. When they found a way to keep us permanently in debt, therefore a reason to always have certain taxes.

Ample power to enforce laws by coercion of individuals and to some extent of states

Actually, the 4th and 5th and even 9th amendments inhibit said power against the individual. The states are supposed to be protected by the 10th amendment as well. Actually there is no legal way outside of military invasion for the Feds to enfoce Federal Law.
