I have been getting the same response for the past week on that number. I don't know if this was because of their move to a new office this week or not. Here is the Philippine number: 011-632-301-2000; if dialing from U.S. I had some luck with that, though the call quality is poor.

12-24-09 Goofy White Boy meets smart and feisty Filipina.

2-14-2011 Phone Call stating our case is under additional review

2-26-2011 Received email that Visa was denied for Four Days of overstay in U.S.; requests I-601

The number you gave is the number my fiancee tried to dial in the philippines. I didn't know it was a number for me. I tried it and only got an automated system. It asks for an extension or it just give general information, along with website addresses and appointment phone numbers. I tried x5184 and x5185 and both say the person will not answer and to call back. I tried without an extention but only received other phone numbers for making an appointment. I tried those numbers an the person wanted me to schedule an appointment but would not conitnue because my fiancee did not receive letter from USEM. I asked her if my case had arrived yet, and she only told me I need to wait for the letter.

My fiancee called 029-82-5555 and talked to someone four times. Each time they asked her for her case number, but then the line hung up. Why would that be?

I heard about the office being closed on the 4th, but when I read online about it at the manila site, it said they close at 12pm. Darn, now it is 12pm, but it was only 11:30am when we called these numbers.

Does this mean we have to wait for them to reopen again? I cannot believe the timing for this. Why now? After almost 6 months of waiting, now we need to wait longer. All we want is a request for police clearance so we can wait another 2 to 3 months to get the clearance, interview, and then visa. I am so frustrated.

She has called 029-82-5555 six times now and every time it hangs up exactly 3 minutes into her call. She has talked to 2 people now, I think they know her now. She is now calling 7th time. Why would it hang up? Not enough load? she has 193 pesos. Does she need more?

Well, we gave up. Again, after 3 minutes, the phone hung up. I think my fiancee will just go there on Wednesday when they open back up and ask them if the case has arrived and again ask for a request for police clearance from Brunei. That's what we have been waiting for, now for over 6 months.

Maybe I'll try to call the state department tomorrow during US business hours. I've also heard that can work.

Hello! She should call from a landline not cellphone... I also have this difficulty when i am using my cellphone for my credit card call center...

Also, I think your case number is not in the system yet, that's why the call center is asking for the manila case number...

Try calling the NVC at 603-334-0700 and ask for the Manila Case Number, it should start with MNL2011 plus another 6 digits, then ask them what day it left NVC.

It usually takes a week for your case to physically arrive at the embassy after it left, mine was sent Feb 9 and the embassy receive it Feb 16 plus another week for the embassy to input the case number into their system. So if the Embassy did not receive your application yet or even if they received it but have not entered it in the system due to them moving office... the call center cannot schedule your interview yet.

1st...My wife learned, from other VJ's, how to track our package and identify it's USEM delivery date. I don't know the trick but others here do. (my wife is out having lunch with a gf right now or I would ask about the tracking method..anyway I'm sure others will post the method b4 I can get you an answer)

2nd..I began calling the USEM main # at 7:55am (manila time), hit zero and asked the operator to transfer me into the right department. Sometimes they would answer immediately. Most of the time I got the automated system and when I did, I hit zero again. this rolled me back into the phone line and I kept repeating the process until some1 finally answered my call. I think they got tired of hearing the phone ring and ring and ring or I finally came up in the answer que.

3rd... They always asked for my MNL# and until we were uploaded into their system...kept telling me to either wait for the letter or call back in a week. I called back every day, Took about a week for us to be in the system and I was able to schedule the (K3) interview. Did not have to wait for the letter to schedule the interview.

I don't know what is best method to get the police clearance request. I'm sure others can advise on that.

My point is...I tried all the instructed / prescribed contact methods and found I was able to circumvent some of the system and get into a live human faster and with better results. I'm also of the opinion that USEM staff responds more proficiently and with more disclosure when talking to the US citizen. Seems they have a tendency to play some hardball with the Filipino and straighten up and do their job (so to speak) when its a US on the line. That opinion comes from our own experience and what other VJ's have written.

I say bull dog em' but with decent courtesy and polite language!

Instead of knocking yourself out trying to get ahold of the Embassy, maybe it would be easier if you simply got your MNL case number from the NVC, paid the visa fee, and scheduled an interview appointment through the call center or online.

Given your timeline, your physical file is undoubtably at the Embassy, and it should be entered into their system already. If it hasn't been entered into their system yet, it should be entered into their system any day now. When your physical file is entered into their system, you will be allowed to schedule.
