F4 petition aproved but not immigrate

Hello ,

this is from india, an f4 petition that was approved in 2006 was not acted upon by one of the beneficiary and the person wants to immigrate after a a lapse of 5 yrs now. what is the way to re initiate the file that is already aproved in 2006 now. what paper work is required and whom to approach nvc or the local consul. how much cost will it incurr etc. thanks in advance to any one helping out

do you mean to say that the person was granted a visa at the consular interview and did not come?

if so, he has to start all over again. it is considered abandoned.

the petitioner has to file the i130 all over again and it will take more than 10 years I believe.

dear all,

in yr 2006 my wifes sister's F4 petition for my family was aproved and i sent my wife , my son and daughter after the visa was granted to them, alhough as spouse i had opportunity too, but i did not appply for interview and visa as i kept my self here india, for two reasons a,i was not sure they would settle in usa , as well to provide financial support and provide the backup if some more documents required for continuation of childrens education. i am a medical doctor and wanted to work as doctor a thing thatis impossible for my 52 yrs age (giving exams)so i continued the professional life and want to take early retirement now. well now my family is fine there and i want to join them there . all i have is the letter informing me about the petition aproved in year 2006 with my name . i wrote to visa centre and the reply came that i have to contact to local consul hence forth , can follow to join application work in this situation or is there any other way like i824 application.
