US Citizen address change between NVC and Consulate

Hello,

My husband (the USC) is moving into our new apartment this weekend (YAY!)

My question is, do we need to inform someone of the new address and if so, whom? I've heard the Mtl Consulate is impossible to get a hold of, do I just have to give them the new address when I'm there for the interview?

Your husband has to file an I-865 Change of Address form, addressed to USCIS (since he has an active I-864 Affidavit of Support). From hereon end, whenever you guys move, he has to submit an I-865 within 30 days of moving to the new address. After you move to the US, every time you guys move, you have to file an AR-11 Change of Address form within 10 days of moving to your new address. Both of you will report to the USCIS every time you move, until you become a US citizen or until you have worked in the US for 10 years as a green card holder.

He also has to inform NVC by e-mail:

The NVC’s e-mail address is NVCINQUIRY@state.gov.

In order to ensure a prompt response:

  • Enter your NVC Case Number in the Subject Line of the e-mail.
  • Provide the applicant’s name and date of birth and the petitioner’s name and date of birth.

When you are asked to complete the visa forms for Montreal, one of the questions will ask you where you are planning to live in the U.S. You can put down his new address then.

06-19-2018: Received email and text notification: Naturalization Ceremony Scheduled; waited for letter to be uploaded on online account - it has been set on Wednesday, July 25, 3:00 p.m.

07-25-2018: I am now a U.S. Citizen!

I see from your timeline that your interview is about a week and a half away. IMO you can just update your husband's address at your interview. If there are any moves after that then you would file the I-865 and AR-11 as posted above. Good luck at your interview!
