F2 visa rejected

Following is the background related to my question:

* I have F1 (student) visa and currently I am working as a part of my OPT.

* My wife applied for F2 dependent visa, but it was rejected.

* She has a valid 10 year tourist visa.

Q. Would it be advisable for her to visit US on her tourist visa?

Whether she will be allowed to apply for F2 visa after coming back from US?

we are not very sure if this would be a good idea.

Any views would be really helpful.

Yes she can re-apply, but without a change in circumstances, it will be denied again.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

chances are she will be denied either way as tourist and as F2 - simple reason is you are already on OPT, which means you are in US only for year and that is not considered long term.

As per USCIS you will be going back home after your opt is completed and you can be with your wife.
