I use LBC to send any documents or packages to Phil it's way cheaper and better chance the other party will recieve it. The Phil post is notorius for staeling anything that comes from the USA cuz the possibility that it may contain valuables or money inside. I sent a USPS package with a small box of chocolates and a paperback book but it never arrived thats before I found a LBC near my town.

so how many days or weeks it took before they received your mail?

We send a 18" x 18" x 24" for less that $70 with LBC, and it gets there in about a month, door to door.

I saw in another thread in this forum that they'll take shipping delivery from you via UPS, FED Ex ect, and forward it to Phil. so you if true, you won't have to be physically there, just maybe have the duty/declaration form mailed to you so you can fill it out and sign. It can be done but is the trouble it worth it? Depends.....

Most areas in the US have freight forwarders that will get your box to LBC, Forex, or one of the other carriers. Check with the local Asian community, or search online.

From my experience the package was sent thru FED EX from the US and then it was 2GO Courier that delivered it when it reached the Philippines. You can ask them to be sure.

If you're sending to someone based outside of Metro Manila and other major urban areas like Cebu, the international courier companies (FedEx, DHL, UPS etc) usually work with a local partner like 2GO. This can add days to the delivery estimate of the international courier both ways.

Btw, I find DHL to be the fastest for outbound packages (going to the US).

What about sending documents to Malaybalay City? FedEx is not there. DHL's web site claims it would cost $427 (are they insane??)

I didn't have any problem sending documents via the regular mail. I put them in those heavy mailer envelopes, taped them up well, and wrote on both sides, "DOCUMENTS ONLY - CONTAINS NO CASH"

Okay, but what about Malaybalay where the closest FedEx office is in CDO? Do they pass it off to a local courier, or deliver it themselves, or somehow tell you to come over to CDO in person and pick it up? My fiancee is willing to take the 3 hour bus trip to CDO to pick it up if need be (but it would be nice if there were a better way).

I sent a copy of my I-129F package to her 3 weeks ago by regular mail, and there's no sign of it yet. (Letters consistently take 2 weeks, so I suspect it is stolen.) No way am I sending anything that is urgent or not replaceable by regular mail.
