Hello everybody!!!

It has been 8 weeks since I applied for my SSN when they told me that it would take up to 4 weeks.

I applied with my married name but they took photocopies of all my immigration documents and passport to verify them.

I've called several times and today they tell me that the documents haven't been verified yet and they haven't heard nothing about it but that I should wait until they deny or approve my petition... I wonder if I will have to wait until I have the EAD, Greencard or until I die.

When I applied for the number was 24 days before my I-94 expired. Now it has been 15 days since my I-94 expired and I have the NOA1 for both my EAD and AOS and my Biometrics appointment will be on February 25th.

I'm thinking on calling back tomorrow to set an appointment with the manager of the office and explain that person the whole situation and see what happens...at least I want to know what's the deal because until now, it sounds like they will never care for it or will do a call to see what has happened with my case...that's the thing that pisses me off...First of all they should have known that I was in the SAVE system...(I found out about it after the clerk in the Social Security office I went was acting so messed up...

Any advice?

Thank you in advance!

God bless :)

BTW... I applied to have the card in my married name but all my documents were with my maiden name and as well I wrote my maiden name in the SS-5 form so shouldn't be a problem for immigration to find me once they take a look to my documents and marriage certificate etc

I applied before filing the AOS as I know a K1 is allowed to apply for it. I know as well that the reason why a K1 is authorized to apply for a SSN is because some states will ask for it in order to issue a Marriage license. (I found out of this last statement after applying). However, I've heard of people who did same thing as me (apply for it after getting married with their married last name and before filing AOS) and received their SSN.

So yes, I was in the system back then since my I-94 wasn't expired and they took as immigration papers to verify the I-94, the K1 and the passport bio page.

My only concern is that if they need me to wait until having an EAD, that's not a problem at all to me but at least I would like to know that someone is not leaving my case aside and not even worried to see what's going on since they didn't have a verification yet which is their job by the way. So is their job to do it denying my petition for now or not and I'm just complaining because I have the right to know what to do if go back once having an EAD or what.

Thank you though for your opinion. I maybe didn't explain myself right saying that I applied for the SSN before filing for the AOS. :)

Wish you all the best in your way
