Intent to marry

Greetings,

I sent my K-1 package into the Dallas Lockbox address and forgot to get the intent to marry letter notarized. Will i get an RFE, or am i just to paranoid?? Thanks

I dont think the intent to marry has to be notarized. you should be ok. I didnt send an intent to marry at all and I was ok. Good Luck!!!!!

Did you forget to include the notarized version of the letter of intent to marry or did you forget to include a letter of intent at all? You needed to submit two letters of intent, one for you (USC petitioner) and one for your fiance(e). The letters needn't be notarized. If you did not include both letters you will probably get a RFE in 5 months or so from now (or whenever your petition is adjudicated).

The OP forgot the "notarized version" (which it doesnt need to be notarized) However it really does depend on your adjudicator whether you will get an RFE or not I never sent the intent to marry and I NEVER got an RFE so it really just depends on who is processing your papers

Thanks everybody! Also i was told that for the K-1 submission they only want to know if you have met within the prior 2 years, and proof of an ongoing relationship is discussed at the interview process. How true is that?

When you submit your K-1 yes you need to show proof of meeting in the last 2yrs correct. However you need also to show proof of the ongoing relationship as well when sending the pkt like pics, chat logs, boarding passes, hotel receipts etc....boarding passes and passport stamps can also be the proof of having met in the last two years.

Our letters of intent were not notarized and we did not receive an RFE for that.

I have heard the 'proof you've met in the last 2 years' is needed for the petition, and 'proof of ongoing relationship' is needed for the interview around these boards as well, though including relationship proofs with the petition didn't seem to hurt us... We're going to print off some new emails/chat records, and fresh pictures/boarding passes and stuff from our next visit (Feb 18!!) for the interview though...

I sent, pics of our last visit together which was last month, i copied and sent my entire passport with entry, and exit stamps, flight itinerary for the last 5 months of flights, as well as phone bills showing our conversations month to month. The phone bills were to much so i sent the first week of each month, and the last week of each month. One month of phone bills between how much we talk were like 20 pages. What do you guys think?

Looks good - the flight itineraries might not be so valuable because they don't "prove" per se that you took the flight, but if they match your passport stamps, they could be counted for good secondary-type evidence.

Your selection of phone calls seems fine to me too. Hang on to your boarding passes of any future flights. Other than that, I'd say not to fret too much and read up about what's coming the next few months
