Jack, that same system dumped 7 to 21 inches of snow across Missouri. I-70 is closed from Kansas City to St. Louis... Don't recall it ever being this bad. The Northeast better get prepared for another round....

Crazy cold. We have temps getting down in the single digits tonight, I think it's 15 degrees outside right now. We just don't get that cold here. Yesterday morning around 1 a.m. we had rain and thunderstorm, 3 hours later the cold front blew thru and it turned to sleet with thunderstorm (thundersleet). Driving wasn't too bad yesterday even though most people stayed home

It's 5:15 in the morning, I just walked outside to check the streets they are glazed over in 1 inch sheet of ice and it's slicker than OwlShit. Much more of this cold weather and moving to Philippines will be a lot sooner than I had planned

Do the locals around Dallas still slam on the brakes when sliding on ice? I was in D-FW one winter and the locals scared me. lol.

We received about 16 inches of snow here in Il with up to 45 mph winds. There was 2 feet of snow blockung the front door. A 4-wheel drive SUV tried to drive down our rode but backed up.

It's a snow day for real!!

Yeah it has been cold here too, lower 60's at night and only the mid 70's during the day. So my wife has been cold, says it gets cold like this in PI a couple of times a year. Well at least it has been sunny and nor raining, but we will get some rain this weekend. Also damn chickens have been crowing and digging the punso and making the dwende mad.

They shut everything down, we are not equipped or prepared for snow or ice. Wrecks everywhere, I saw one sweet wreck yesterday, the cars looked like pinballs bouncing off guard rails and other vehicles

Some things never change. We have the opposite problem here in IL. People are still going 70 MPH on snow and ice.

Not to hijack your topic, but we got an official record of 17.6 inches of snow with 45 MPH winds. This is the last few feet of snowdrift to the road:

The Philippines doesn't sound too bad after all....:P I am already tired of looking at all this snow. We have had 2 winters straight with alot more snow that usual.

Yea Charles.... Living out here in Independence. If I remember right, you are in Fort Leavenworth... Both of my parents are buried there at the National Cemetary. Anyway, I froze my azz off this morning at work. The cold spell won't let up.......:(
