I went back about 8 pages and I didn't see a link for hotels. I have to get to work soon so I'm just making a topic.

the Deal of the Day for today is for a cheap hotel that is a 20 minute walk from the consulate. I don't know if it's scheduled for a certain day, or if you can schedule it, but here it is!

http://dealoftheday.redflagdeals.com/deal/toronto/htel-espresso-toronto

$89.99 a night for a regular $225 room. GREAT for those who want a 5 star hotel. I think there's just over 16 hours left on the deal. I hope it was some help to someone!

Location:

1005 rue Guy, Montreal, QC, H3H 2K4

I would have loved this deal myself, but I had purchased a hotel room a month ago, and its non refundable. :(

I stayed at the Hyatt regency, its maybe 5 min walk to the embassy out the door. Really good location! the mall is great too, we went shopping after my approval and had some breakfast at the food court.

I looked at La Tour and almost booked there but my mom decided to go with me to Montreal at the last min and she sprung for the Hyatt. ( I think she realized I was really doing this and really was going to leave for the USA. lol )

I stayed at the la Tour Centreville back in 2005.. yeah it wasn't fancy but I really only needed a place to sleep and I liked that it had a little kitchenette.. I found a grocery store close by and picked up some food.. i had booked the room for two nights because I wasn't sure when I was getting my visa.. at the time they were still giving them out the same day.. turns out I could have went back home the same day as I got my visa by 1pm.. :P

Ahh, I'm sorry. I knew I had seen it somewhere before. I thank you again though!

I hope I helped out someone in the world lol. It's a good deal. 20 minutes isn't all that bad I don't think! :D

As much as you can, do NOT stay at the Espresso on Guy Street. Stayed there in the past and it's barley worth the $89.99 deal! They Hyatt is great and the Holiday Inn Express on Rene-Levesque is a good option as well. Good luck to those of you who have upcoming interviews!

I stayed at the holiday inn express, and LOVED it. There is a timmies kitty corner from it, which is great, because you will want to consume it by the galon before you leave canada :) Its about a 15 min walk to the consulate, and you can see the basilique from your room. 5 minute walk to that, and about 10 min to old montreal. I would definately recomend it!

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

Oh cool its up again!

I just had my medical this morning. It will go fast if your veins will let them draw blood! :P

I have my hotel booked for the Holiday Inn! I love the Holiday inn and they have never let me down before!

You must be reading my mind. I was thinking of staying at Holiday Inn after reading really bad reviews of La Tour Centre-ville on Trip Advisor. I'm planning to take my sister for a trip to Montreal before my actual interview for some sightseeing and poutine. So I would love to hear about your experience.

P.S. Read about your medical in Toronto. Small veins do suck. The good news is that it's over
