My employment base immigration (priority current) is approved by NVC this week.

1. How long is it taking to get the interview date for Montreal and letter after case complete from NVC?

2. Just wondering, do MTL (or NVC) send email or letter for interview notification?

3. I am seeing lot of DHL packet discussion but My friend who gone same process a year before told me that we need to take "One Prepaid express 12" x 15" Xpresspost Canada Post" for sending passport back. It seems I am missing something here..dhl or Xpresspost?

Thanks,

hey

1) it is hard to say the exact time line but 1-3 months to hear an interview date and then usually 1-2 months till the interview date. Montreal is a bit faster than when I interviewed but I think they are still quite backlogged.

2) If you did Electronic processing then Nvc will send you an email within a few days stating your case is complete and then they will email you once your interview date is set. (however I called a few times to check with nvc)

3) It is DHL all the way now

Thanks Canadiandggal and others. I sent DS230 and other documents by courier mail to NVC and AVM is updated with "Case Complete". But DS230 form has our email id.

We actually got everything by email throughout the NVC process...AOS generation, IV app. generation and checklists. Maybe this is due to giving our emails addresses during the first stage of NVC....nothing came by mail other than our USCIS approval.

We never got any email from NVC accept when we paid online fee. Our process is employment base immigration ( priority date current)so process, priority and communication may change.

I'm not sure how long interview dates takes for employment based visas....so maybe its very different than spousal visas.

OP..I am not sure about employment visas..although it does seem that montreal has sped up quite a bit.
