Event Description

Embassy Review : First of all I would like to thank all the VJr's for their inputs and support, specially Saylin and Zach.

My husband and I drove from Toronto the previous night. We had booked at Holiday Inn (155 Rene Levesque) which is about 10 minute walk to the Consulate. We did a recon. to make sure of the timing and to check out where the Tim Hortons is located.
We arrived at 6.55am and I was first in line. As advised by the members, I was only carrying a folder with all my documents and a plastic bag with my medicals and x-rays.
The doors opened at 7.30am and I was asked to go to the door on the left up the stairs. Once past the security, I went down on the left and sat close to the elevator. We were all gathered there for about 25 mins and were then asked to get into the elevator. I stayed at the back on the left and was second in line to the cashier (just didnt want to be the first).
I got the C2 number and was called in a few mins and was asked to go to Window 12. There I was asked for my passport and medicals and my fingerprints were taken. I was also asked to fill out the DS-230. Again, as advised by the members, I had already filled out the form, so was then asked to go to the next window 10.
Here, I gave the DS-230, the officer went over my details with me, especially on the 1st page. I was not asked for any originals certificates. I was then asked to sit and wait for my interview.
I was called for my interview at around 8.40 (I think). The officer was a very nice young woman, who put me at ease. She asked for my employment letter, to confirm my job offer. She asked about my education and work experience including my present position. At this time, she asked me to take an oath and then said that she was going to approve my application and handed me a letter. I coudn't believe it, so I said Thank you very much and then asked her if I was all done. She laughed and said, yes you are all done and can leave now.
Again, I want to thank everyone on the website and good luck to all.
