Can anyone here explain how the K3 visa processing is currently 3 almost 4 months ahead of the K1 processing? If only I knew before petitoning for the K1. I would have been married in Brazil and my wife would be packing about right now. Hopefully someone can fill me in on what is going on with the K1 visa's. It seems like the Centers have slowed down alot in the processing. Wish you all the best of luck!

From what I have been seeing on here Vermont is really slow right now plus you only got your NOA1 7th Dec it has only been a month. You will wait 4-5 months if your lucky. And I don't think CR1 are going that much faster as K3 don't exist any more. Patience my friend

K-3 visa is a dead visa type, NVC Kills the I-129F when they receive the two petitions involved in K-3 processing (I-129F and I-130) at same time USCIS ties them together and sends together to NVC.

K-3 served only one function, it was derived at a time when I-130 was taking years to get approved, however now since I-130 is approved at same time as I-129F the function of K-3 (Entry to USA and WAITING for I-130 approval) no longer exists, so NVC kills the K-3 in favor of the superior CR-1 or IR-1 visa.

I see no difference in processing times at USCIS.

I-129F K-1 (5 months)

I-129F K-3 (5 months)

I-130 CR-1 (5 months)

This is not a K-1 topic, moving this to general immigrations forum..

Timelines only reflect stats generated by data that people place into the database which accuracy varies greatly, I see so many timelines started, but never updated, this throws off the accuracy by a large factor.

Thanks for the clarification, I am definitely prepared and expecting to wait 5 or 6 months. Just trying to get a better idea of how the system works. Just browsing the site I have seen so many different wait times. I am sure this is due to many factors as each case is different. Thanks again for the input
