Unless airfare changes in the next 24 hours(likely) it looks like she will fly Continentalfrom MNL, POE Guam, Honolulu, Denver to Kansas City for $850. I know it is alot of flights but coming to the midwest is tough. Even nonstop into SFO still gets you 2 more legs to KC. Arrival time in KC is great (11:30am) and all the layovers are a couple of hours or less.

China Air was a great price into LAX or SFO($645) but connecting into KC cost more with a long layover.

I did get a $920 all taxes incl. departure tax from MNL nonstop into SFO with PAL then arrive in KC via Chicago at 830am. I work the night shift and a few hours sleep would be nice.

Either way we are both excited.

That will work. Just keep her out of LAX. The airport suxs there. It don't matter if she has a few layover, it's not like she has to be at work.......

The suck part is the connections. If you do not live near a major hub for international flight then your choices are limited.

Remember to make sure that she have enough time at her POE to make her connecting flights - one delay can throw everything out of sync.

Also luggage: find out if her luggage will be tag all the way to her final destination (so she do not have to collect & recheck) - I think that the final/final two legs of Continental flight will be operated by United (check on that to verify).

The last 2 legs are with American. I don't think that there will be a baggage fee. Continental's policy says flights from the Pan Pacific to the U.S. has no baggage fees for the first bag. I am booking the flight directly with Continental from their website.

I pay extra to avoid LAX.

It's a freaking zoo. OverCrowded, Rude employees, everywhere you go it's a line to do anything.

San Fransico in Cali is nice and calm, easy going, not crowded.

I have made about 15 trips to either Philippines, Tahati, etc and I made the mistake of going to LAX. It was the first time and the last time.......

I do not mean luggage fee - I am talking about her luggage being tagged. :bonk:

Let me explain:

If you are flying multiple stops on different airlines and your luggage is NOT tagged to the final destination, you would have to retrieve your luggage form the last stop of the first airline & re-check it again for travel on the next airlines.

Thus, in your wife's case if her luggage is NOT tagged from MNL to KC - she will have to retrieve her luggage at Honolulu (final stop on Continental) then re-check it again for the domestic part (final two legs on American).

BUT if her luggage is checked/tagged from beginning to end - she will NOT have to collect her luggage until she reaches her final destination (KC).

Although you can continue your trip from one airlines to the other - some of them do not have luggage agreements. That is something for you to check on - if the airlines she will be flying on have a luggage agreement.

Also I didn't know that Continental had a codeshare agreement with American Airlines.

Flying Suxs now of days, too much BS and hassels of getting patted down and waiting. Small crowded planes, unfriendly waitress working on the plane (USA Flights). I get on PAL in either Vegas or San Fran going to PI, Try to avoid flying any US based airline when going to PI

and what do your response do with my post anyhowwww?????!

I made a post about luggage & having your luggage tagged from boarding to final destination. Then you quoted my post & said "I super LOVE LAX. :)"

Question: does your response/quote "I super LOVE LAX. :)" have anything to do with luggage or having your luggage tagged?

Maybe you meant to quote someone else and quoted me by mistake.

Also I responded to your quote BECAUSE you quoted me FIRST- go back and read the thread.
