Which Affidavit of Support?

Hi guys,

Our interview is this Wednesday morning but we still have confusion over which I-864 to use since there's some change in my husband income I believe he need to fill a new Affidavit of Support. I've been looking at the two new forms I-864 (Rev.01/15/06) and the I-864EZ but it's so confusing. Could you guys please tell me which one he need to fill out? Or we could just fill out the same older form like we sent in with the AOS application?

If his income is more than 125% poverty line then use I-864EZ it is simpler, and only requires copies of past 1-3 years tax returns (1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ, W2, and any 1099s), also copies of past 6 months pay stubs can be included.

If relying on someone else for joint sponsor then use I-864, and the additional sponsor fills out an I-864A, The same documentation above will be required from sponsor and joint sponsor.

Thank you very much for your info, yes I noticed that the 1-864EZ is a lot easier to fill out and my husband's income is above the poverty line and we don't need any additional sponsor.

I guess I didn't put 2 and 2 together when people were talking about the "easier" I-864 form ... I never seen this form mentioned in the VJ guide so I didn't relise that it existed ... And when I printed out VJ's example form for the I-864 it didn't look like the I-864 that I was using so I figured this was the new "easier" version of the form ...

Anyways, we used the I-864 form when we submitted when it looks like we would have been able to use the I-864EZ ... I hope it doesn't matter if we used the I-864 form when we should have used the I-864EZ ???

USCIS indicates the older form is still acceptable. So dont worry.
