I am having trouble comprehending what it means by "Validity of atleast 5 years" , does this mean it was valid for atleast 5 years when it was issued, IE, I got it in 2002 and it expires in 2012, or does this mean that it had a life time of atleast 5 years, in this case mine had 10 years.

Someone please clarify.

im not sure which form you are looking at

but im sure it means it has a validity of at least 5 years from the moment u submit the form

meaning from that date it still has at least 5 years before it expires

imho

i am referring to the i-129f packet, it states that if you use your passport instead of your birth certificate for proof of citizenship that it must have a validity of at least 5 years.

I believe it means you cant use the little passport cards. It has to be an actual passport book that is valid for 5 years or more, not the actual current valid date of 5 years. That would mean almost everyone would be getting new passports just to apply for I-129F....

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

It means the passport when originally issued, had a validity of at least 5 years. Adults are issued passports with 10 years validity. Evidence of citizenship can be accomplished with any US passport issued with 5 or 10 years validity even if it would expire next week. Take this to the bank and discard the speculation that conflicts. Ain't my first rodeo.
