So my SO's NBI clearance is almost a year old, not quite a year but coming close. I have read here that it should be withing six months but the embassy paperwork says 1 year.

Should I have her renew it ? and if so does she have to go back to her hometown to get the barangay clearance all over again?

just want to make sure the embassy doesnt require her to have the NBI and the police clearance.

Thanks

If she will be having an interview appointment after her NBI clearance expired then "yes" she will need to renew it because that is one of the most document that the Embassy will be asking/looking from her.

If she is in her province then let her renew there. If she is in Manila she can renew it there, but in my case I would say it is easier to renew it in the province.

Hope this helps!

my friend Phil& Wi had her NBI clearance 4 months until expiration date. And there wasnt prob about it..But if you want to be safe, just have it renewed..And she doesn't need to get barangay clearance or police clearance anymore. She will have to show the old copy.

Thanks, ya we will renew it. another question though, can her mom renew it for her? as she has work and is scared to resign before she gets her next paycheck.

which is kinda sad, she says they may not put it in her bank if she resigns.

sorry, one more, how long does it take to get the CENOMAR?

On the NBI FAQ section, it said:

  • I AM A VERY BUSY PERSON, BUT I NEED TO RENEW MY CLEARANCE. CAN OUR MESSENGER OR RELATIVE DO THIS FOR ME ?

- Yes, You can send your authorized representative at the following Offices:

Ø NBI Clearance Center (Carriedo Plaza, Carriedo cor Estero Cegado Sts., Sta. Cruz, Manila)

Ø NBI Satellite Offices

Ø NBI Regional / District Offices

However, be sure to that your authorized representative have the original copy of your previous clearance certificate and attach your latest 2×2 picture (white background). Update the information that needs to be updated. We accept changes in address and purpose of clearance, else write Same Data if there are no changes. If there would changes in your NAME, DATE OF BIRTH and PLACE OF BIRTH, we will require you to come personally to fill-up a new application form and attached a photocopy of your birth certificate.

- NBI KIOSKS – does not accept renewal of clearance handed by your representative, even without corrections, they will take your picture personally. It does not accept any correction in NAME, DATE OF BIRTH and PLACE OF BIRTH.
