the I-129F form is asking for my certificate of citizenship number which i do not have. I only have the US passport to prove my citizenship. Do I leave it blank or do I have to retrieve the number? How do I go about retrieving the number? DO i have to order a new certificate of citizneship in order to retrieve the certificate number?

It isn't asking for it. Just write N/A if you were born in the USA. You provide the certificate number only if you check the naturalization box. It's a confusing section.

If you are a naturalized citizen, then this is a number that is on citizenship certificate. I beleive it is the A# you had before naturalization.

OP's profile says "Naturilization Approved" as status, makes me believe a naturalized citizen.

Good point but it's not the A number. If naturalized and you don't have the certificate or number, just write "Unknown".

i'm a naturalized citizen. Do I put my old A# or unknown? This is confusing.

As I said, your A number is not your naturalization certificate number. The Naturalization certificate will have it's own number PLUS your A number on it. If you don't know your Certificate number write Unknown.

I'm a naturalized citizen and I put the A# in the section provided. But I also did an InfoPass appointment to get the number from my Certificate of Naturalization. I believe that a Certificate of Citizenship is a document for individuals born outside of the United States to US Citizen parents and is different from a Certificate of Naturalization. If you have your Certificate of Naturalization that is the number that you should use. If not, you should be able to get the number from USCIS through an InfoPass appointment.
