you might want to try china airlines.

www.china-airlines.com

I think i got my wife's ticket from onetravel.com...I have also used cheapoair.com

I have also used asaptickets.com to go to the PI...only issue i have with them is you have to call them to find out the total price for the ticket. They show the price before taxes when you do the search.

There should be other factors to include when purchasing a ticket.

What will the POE be?

How many stop will there be?

Immigration & time to make connections?

And comfort.

The flight that I am considering for my wife will be about $40 - $100 more expensive than some other flight but I want her to be comfortable on that 15+ flight.

There will be 1 stopover/plane change in HK & then fly direct to JFK (her POE & final destination).

Her luggage will be tagged all the way to JFK so she do not have to worry about it.

I can choose her seat thus giving he a seat at the front/near exit so she will not be too far back when it come o immigration.

Good points thekfc.

I too looked at is my wife's luggage and changing airlines in Manila. Weight restrictions for domestic flights are much lower than international flights. So the Butuan to Manila flight will cost me for overweight luggage. Plus if my wife gets a ticket from her town to Los Angeles she does not have to drag her luggage from the domestic terminal to the international terminal in Manila. The downside to this is that it pins me down to PAL.

Yes that is a good point. I paid a little extra for my wife's ticket (could have been about 400 less if I was a gambling man, but such as life..I waited until we had the visa approved after the interiew). She only had 2 stops and both were fairly short of about 3 hours or so.

I forgot about http://santraphael.com/home.php.

My wife's friend knows some people that work for a travel agent in manila and the ticket I bought couldnt have been bought cheaper. I went through onetravel.com. Of course I had to fly my wife to anchorage...alaska is always a little different to fly to and not very much wiggle room on the price. I wish I would have been in the lower 48 for ticket prices.

The one way first time immigrant airfare that the other does not apply to K-1 visa holders as they are non immigrant. They did inform me that some airlines do offer a K-1 discounted fair but didn't elaborate on which ones.

Thank you guys for the reply :) just trying to be wise in purchasing my ticket since I'm the one who's paying for it and I'm hoping I can find a ticket ranging from 500-600$ including taxes. I'm still putting into consideration the amount that I need to pay for my excess baggage :( sigh....does anyone here know how much would it cost for every excess baggage?

I'd also recommend considering more than just the price. Many people complain about airline service and cramped seats, yet at the same time most people always look for the absolute cheapest price. You generally get what you pay for. Try to ensure the flight you get is on an aircraft with personal video screens with on-demand video&movies. It's nearly standard for long flights these days, but some airlines still run unreferbished aircraft on their transpacific flights which have only have screens for each section, and these screens often sorely in need of repair (fuzzy, color problems, etc). One of my trips over, on the way there, the plane had personal video screens, but instead of on-demand it was channel based, so I couldn't pause or rewind when something interrupted the movies, nor choose when to start watching something. My first trip over had a nice on-demand system which makes the hours go by much smoother.

There are also some uncommon circumstances where a business class ticket might be about the same price as an economy ticket, for example if it's last-minute and economy class is nearly full.

Make sure you join the frequent flyer program for whichever airline you choose to fly, and be sure to use your FF# every time you book.

 Chinook and I approve this Delta flight (formerly Northwest Airlines).

It may not be the cheapest, but it is the quickest way to get to Seattle.

Total travel time is under 16 hours.

There is one stop in Japan for about 2 and 1/2 hours.

Total in-flight time is about 13 and 1/2 hours.
