RFE kept on coming. Now that NVC confirmed that they received the DS-230, they are asking for my original birth certificate and original marriage certificate from present and previous marriages. I did not notice that these documents should be submitted in IR-5 cases. They also mentioned that I need to submit my parents pictures which I am 100% sure I submitted. Another 2 weeks or more delay I guess...

I am sorry to hear that. What kind of RFE did you have with AOS. You suppossed to send originals of all the document including your marriage certificate to NVC with the DS-230. Hopefullly you can have the documents send as soon as possible. Good Luck !!!!!!

Grrrrr, I should have seen this before I submitted my DS-230. They did not ask for proof of Citizenship but I guess I have to give them a copy of my US passport or Naturalization certificate as well. I have religiously followed LingChe Shortcut but there was no mention of Petitioner's Original Birth and Marriage Certificates. This is only for IR-5 cases.

Thanks for the info.

EthanJM,

You are a week ahead of me, even with the baby's birth date.   . I wish you the best and I still think you have a change for September. I am hoping for the same. What kind of RFE they sent you What do you mean with ITR did not match income. I talked to an NVC operator and she said my AOS was accepted and correct. I have zero income in 2010. We filed jointly in that year. The 105K in the 2010 ITR is all hers. I indicated in Part 25 income for 2010 as $0.00 but the ITR I submitted indicates 105K. So I got a checklist saying that my entry in Part 25 does not match my ITR.

The amount was indicated in my wife's I-864A. I spoke to a Supervisor and confirmed that what I did was actually correct.

I have a question for those with two parents (this is for my friend) She has to do two pakages of AOS. One for the father and one for the mother. Does she put everything in one package and send them together or in separate envelopes?

In my case, I clipped all documents for my father and separate clip for my mother. They were all sent in one envelope.

Use pencil.

Write benficiary's name, NVC Case number, Beneficiary's date of birth.

Do not staple. Clip them with paper clip on the DS-230 form..or... put them in a plastic bag and staple the plastic bag in the ds-230 form, as some do. I'm not sure if the latter is really the best idea but I've read that somwehre. Bottom line, do not staple the pictures.
