I-864 or I-864a?

OK, this is for my father who wish to bring his sisters to the US. He is a USC but does not make money, I am his son and I am willing and able to be the co-sponsor. We don't live in the same city so we don't have the same "principal residence", which disqualify me filling I-864A (is this correct?)

So I am confused, I-864 or I-864a? Thank you very much for your insight!

petitions of siblings takes a very long time, many years. your father by that time might have a job that doesn't need a joint sponsor.

if not, he will file an i864 as sponsor, you will file another i864 as joint sponsor.

so does that mean that he already filed and the priority date is current?

because in your OP you said wishes, meaning he hasn't started.

what are their priority dates? did the NVC advise him to file the i864 and did he pay the i864 for each of them?
