Guys,

As i am awaiting my NOA2 and just contacted sentors office for follow-up with the Vermont. I am planning to visit my fiancee for teh 3rd time next week. I am shooting towards mid february interview. Here is teh question:

evidence of engagement: it is not that much of a big deal in si lanka to have an engagement pary. so, we didn't. besides we both are divorced with very unfortunate marriages and didn't want to have a party even before we start our lives. This is what i thought to submit for eveidence: A. Family pictures (about 20). B. Copy of ring purchase invoce C. Letter explainging our relationship and jsut mentioning very lightly about our past marriages and plans for our wedding in US.

What do you guys think?

Thank you all!

e. mails, letters, cards, phone records, boarding pass, copy of passport stamps,

Thank you. So basically this is the whole nine yeard you submit right? I thought she needs to carry this to the interview in case they ask for it. So, this requirment package is huge then? In a way it makes sens as i made the case to USCIS whne submitting I-129F with lots of supports. So, i need to make the case with the CO with lots of supports when she goes for the interview right?

Check the regional forum (Asia: South) for answers that are specific to your consulate.

In general, they are not looking for proof of engagement but for proof of an existing and ongoing relationship. As jkelly07 said above, those items will help to establish the bona fides of your relationship.

e. mails, letters, cards, phone records, boarding pass, copy of passport stamps,

The only items on this list that are useful for getting an I-129F petition approved are boarding pass and passport stamps. Without also including some pictures or other secondary evidence, the I-129F would probably not be approved.

The other items you listed are evidence of a relationship. These might be useful to frontload for the consulate, but USCIS doesn't need them to approve the petition.

USCIS does require evidence that the petitioner and beneficiary are engaged. This evidence must be in the form of a signed original statement, referred to on this site as "letters of intent".
