My finacee's mother has to have heart surgery close to the interview date. Can she ask for a new date and how does she do that?

Thanks, Eric

Call the US Embassy where the place of interview and ask for a new date and explain the situation why

I dont see any reason why they wont do it, but make sure you have a confirmation of it some how to prove

it so you dont make problems for yourself.

Good Luck

If you have all of your documents together you may call and reschedule your appointment. The US Embassy in Kiev is pretty good about handling these situations. In some cases, you must present to the IO what you have done to support her situation. How do I know? I have friends that work at that embassy.

Overstayed J1 Visa.

Eric, contact the embassy where your interview is scheduled. Rescheduling for such a reason will present no problem. Good luck to your mother-in-law.
