Im a bit confused!is there a form for the IV15 can someone tell me where i get this?like a physical copy of it?do i send it with my packet 3 stuff?

All the forms you need is on the us embassy website. I have never recieved packet 3 but sent all the forms, with photos attached to ds 156. They processed all my ds forms yesterday, all qualified, i have paid the visa, just awaiting my medical results.

When you have obtained all of the required documents and are prepared for the visa interview, you are required to complete the Notification of Applicant(s) Readiness, Form 2001 and mail it to the Immigrant Visa Unit together with a covering letter containing your email address,

Ok so i fill out all these forms and send it in? can i put the DS 2001 in that same package or do i send that seperately? Should i wait till after i have done the medical to send all these forms in?

NO, the sit says just the DS-2001 and a coverletter showing an email address they can use for contact.

They want the other forms filled out and brought to interview.

Yeah i see that on the site but it also says "On receipt of the Forms DS-230-I, DS-156, DS-157 and form DS-2001, the Immigrant Visa Unit will complete all necesary administrative processing of your visa application" so does that mean they have all to be sent in?

Complete the Form DS-230-Part 1, Form DS-156 and DS-157 for each family member applying for a visa. In addition, the principal applicant is also required to complete form DS-156K. Note: Forms DS-156 and DS-157 must be completed in duplicate. If a question does not apply to you, please mark it with a N/A. The completed form(s) should be mailed to the Immigrant Visa Unit.

There is no IV15. That's the old checklist from London. They use the DS2001 now for you to notify them that you have gathered all the documents you are required to bring to the interview and thus are ready for your interview. It is no longer a checklist where you actually ticked off the items you have in your possession, nor does it have a place asking your intended date of travel or wedding date. Any older reference you read about the checklist would apply except it's now the DS2001 plus a cover letter including things formerly on the IV15 checklist. Everything you need to know is explained in detail on their website if you will click all the links and read carefully.

You can send the four "forms" (the DS-xxx ones) as soon as you know they have logged in your file. Their letter (aka Packet 3) is a good way to know they have logged your file and are ready for you to submit the DS- forms. Then you can start gathering your "documents" (birth certificate, police certificate. I-134, divorce decree, etc) Once you have your "documents" in hand, then you are instructed to inform them that you are prepared for your interview by sending the DS2001 Readiness for Interview form along with a cover letter. The website tells you what to put in the cover letter.

Obviously if you are ahead in the game and already have your needed documents in hand, then you can send your four DS forms AND your Readiness for Interview things (DS2001 + cover letter) all in the same envelope because you're totally ready now. There is no need to wait sending them separately.

Slow down, read their website carefully, and you will know what to do. There's even a video that shows exactly what happens on interview day. There are helpful FAQs for you to read also. After your file has left the NVC, the DOS is responsible for your visa application. Call Dept of State at (202)663-1225, press 1, then 0. It can take 2-4 weeks sometimes before London actually opens the package from NVC and creates your London file so it could easily be January. It all depends on how many other cases arrive and being the holidays a lot of staff are probably off. And the country seems to be quite snowed in keeping people from commuting to work and mail from getting delivered in a timely manner. Your file from NVC arrives off-site and gets taken to the Immigrant Visa Unit, so it's not a case of 4 days after leaving NVC it is on somebody's desk ready to process.
