hello, i just want to ask about my name discrepancy, i am just a little bit worried about this... i used long

Maria and short Ma. in my other documents.

When we re-filed the K1 packet i listed 3 names with short and long Maria/ Ma.

In my Birth Cert. and Passport i used the long Maria...

But in my school records and marriage contract i used the short Ma.

But of course i have an Affidavit of Name Discrepancy from my Laywer...

My question is that, is the Affidavit of Name Discrepancy is enough to show to the CO?.. i mean Maria and Ma. is very common here in the Phil., and when i was strudying i am only using the short Ma. tho in my BC it is Maria....

just confuse, hope someone can enligthen me about this matter...:idea::unsure:

thank u very much..

I think you will be fine as long as the person of that name is you. But just start to use your complete name.

I have two names but when I got here they always think my second name is my middle name. Or they disregard my second name and just use my first name. But in my ROC the name on my NOA is complete. :)

ok thank u for the reply sis... so if i am goin to get my NBI i need to put an A.K.A, my two short Ma. ( coz used in my school records and MC) bcoz we listed these two short Ma. to my G- 325A form...

but now i am using my long Maria. ( in my BC, my passport and other legal docs.)

we have the same first name..I always use what's written on my birth certificate which is MA. not MARIA(although here in US they call me MARIA and address me as that :P )...even until now, we are on our AOS already, I always use the short one...it pretty complicated to use different names and it might cause problems...stick to one so better decide what to use..as for me, I'll follow what is on my birth certificate & legal documents...God bless sis!!!...

i would be on the safe side and get the NBI clearance with all the AKA's indicated on it. the reason why i say that is because when my wife went for their (with kids) interview last week, the pre-screener gave her a hard time about needing to get another NBI clearance with her AKA on it. her name was misspelled on our oldest son's BC, NSO has already fixed it a few years ago by making a notation at the side of his BC stating the correction....and wife told the pre-screener as much. although the person was very nice to my wife, he kept insisting that a new one with the wrong name as AKA needed to be on the NBI clearance. the good thing though...somehow between the pre-screener and the final interview, it worked itself out. the CO did not say that any documentations needed correcting.

so just to be sure you don't catch a snag, have the AKA's put on your NBI clearance.
