... there is often an 8-10 hour difference in clock time between American Time Zones and Russia, depending on where she was from?

...

Actually, Russia is so large it spans 11 time zones from GMT+2 to GMT+12.

Almost half the Earth :D

Hi Repete...

Sorry to hear your sad story. I am also russianspeaking and my husband is American. I speak fluent English and therefore might be helpful for you and your wife. Besides, I am from the same culture she is, so we might have lots in common. Any way, I could talk to your wife on the phone and try to figure out what's going on - maybe she will tell me, or three of us can talk at the same time, trying to clear the situation. I do not need any reward for this - I just wonna help you, guys. If you are interested - please, let me know through this forum.

Jet lag is tough.

When I come and go to Russia (I'm leaving again in 90 minutes!) I switch 12 timezones. Usually I adjust faster outgoing than returning home. When coming back to the States, it can sometimes take me close to 2 weeks before I'm back to normal -- whatever normal is.

On the more severe lags, I fell OK for the first day or two and on day 3 or so, it is worst and it can be even worse on day 4 or 5.

Maybe OP's wife had a similar severe, delayed lag.

I treat jetlag like an illness. It is self-imposed, for sure, but it is easier on me if I treat it as a mild illness and make appropriate allowances and adjustments.
