Hubby had his biometrics appointment in Alexandria, VA yesterday and everything went smoothly. Everyone at the ASC was friendly and efficient; we were in and out of there in 20 minutes! We spent much more time in the car just getting there and back to DC. We also received an email from USCIS later in the afternoon saying that production of his EAD card has been ordered! So glad we're one step closer to completing the green card process!

I am the US citizen, my hubby is the applicant.

Adjusting from J1 Trainee visa with waiver of home residency requirement:

08/18/2010: Sent AOS package to USCIS

08/20/2010: Package received by USCIS

08/31/2010: Received e-mails and text message confirmation of receipt

09/02/2010: Received hard copies of I-797 for I-130, I-485, I-765

RayeRaye, I agree. It took nearly two months for our biometrics letter to arrive from when USCIS acknowledged receipt of our application. The Alexandria office seems to be busier than the applicants in other places where people get their biometrics letter a couple weeks after submitting their applications. The EAD typically takes three months and the seemingly late biometrics appointment doesn't necessarily slow that down.

So weird. You'd think that'd be the easy part. I've called over three times wondering where my biometrics letter is... Was concerned that they had sent it out and I hadn't received it because other VJers seem to get it so fast. Anyway, I think I'm just overly eager. I want evidence that all my hard work on the application packet is not for nothing ;-)

Anyone received an interview letter yet??

Looking at this page (https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do) and selecting Washington, DC, shows that as of Sept 30th, they were processing mid-May. If that trend holds (and the info is accurate), it seems they should be hitting August filers in December-ish. Of course, there are a lot of assumptions being made there, and the fact that the page says it was "posted" on November 22 but the date is as of September, makes me wonder if that's even worthwhile to look at...

Oh, it's been updated! Last I looked it was posted for July or August or something. Hope the interview letters come soon - December seems likely, as I did see someone here (can't remember who), who was a July filer and received their interview letter in November, for mid-December ... so I'm hoping we'll receive ours before Christmas for a January interview!

I'm not surprised at all. Fairfax office has always been a very slow one and I had issues with them in the past. Luckily my whole file was transferred to Baltimore, MD office and they adjudicated everything pretty fast once they got it.

My advice is hang in there, they are probably slower now due to the upcoming holidays (I had been told this the same time last year on an infopass appointment).

Hubby had his biometrics appointment in Alexandria, VA yesterday and everything went smoothly. Everyone at the ASC was friendly and efficient; we were in and out of there in 20 minutes! We spent much more time in the car just getting there and back to DC. We also received an email from USCIS later in the afternoon saying that production of his EAD card has been ordered! So glad we're one step closer to completing the green card process!

Did you have to make any calls/talk to your congressman to get your biometrics appointment letter? It looks like you waited for a long time to go to Alexandria since filing your case and I was wondering if you just waited the whole time or if you did anything to speed up the process.
