Hi All,

One of the wedding gifts we received in Morocco is a traditional Berber wedding blanket.

It's not convenient, in my opinion, to have it on the bed.

Anyone else have one or have any good ideas about how to utilize it?

Thinking of getting a nice decorative curtain rod and curtain hanger clips and hanging it behind the bed. Anyone? Ideas?

Thanks! :star:

if there's a well stocked fabric store near you, i'd check them out and see what their selection of quilt hangers is like. there are a lot of cheesy, old lady style ones out there, but then there are a few that aren't bad either.

don't hang it up in direct sunlight, avoid stress points on the fabric, etc.

Send it to me? LOL. Folded up on the end of a bed is how I would have it - like in a long rectangle.

Haha! It's funny - I was looking them up online for decoration ideas, and saw that they are sold for anywhere from $650 - $1000. I was like hmmmm; maybe husband won't miss it! :P

But, then I thought that all the blessings/prayers of the Berber women for our marriage would be thrown out the window! The price isn't worth that!

I don't think on the end of our bed would do it justice, especially when the bed isn't made, etc (which is sadly is more often than not!)

How about a bench or loveseat in the room and the blanket draped/displayed there ?

Thanks for the idea. We have a chaise already in the bedroom, but I think the blanket would over power it. If it was a throw it would work better, but this thing is large - fits easily and then some on the queen size bed.
