In the photo gallery how do people rate the pictures?

Just wondering the reasons behind rating the photos in the photo gallery. How come some photos have been rated great and others say rubbish? What makes people rate a picture of one couple great and another rubbish? Is it how good they look, how real they look as a couple or what?

I don't rate the pictures. It seems very 'high school'.

What's the point of rating pictures anyway??

I highly doubt my life will be affected a great deal by a higher or lower rating by "friends" I've met online!

I think that the rating system must automatically come with this gallery format we have or something. I think the rating is dumb too. We got the Admin to take off the rating options last year, but when VJ was moved to this new server(or whatever it was that happened lol) in January, the gallery had the option again to rate pictures. I'm sure we could get it taken off again.

I removed the ability for people to rate the pictures. I agree it makes no sense for the site and was just on my default :).
