Good day!

First thanks for all the help here in vj while processing my papers in phils.

I'm here now in vegas, for just a month, I'm waiting for my green card, my question is can I go back to phils To marry my future husband once i received my green card?

due to my visa category 'f2b' unmarried we decided to wait for visa to b approved bfore getting married..

I hope those people who'd gone this same situation can help me figure things.

I dunno if I need to stay 6months here in USA before going home or they don't have requirement for residency for LPR going home to get married..

Thanks! God bless!

My understanding is that once you have your GC, you are perfectly free to take vacations of reasonable length abroad. When you reenter the US, you will show them your PI passport and your US GC and, assuming you haven't been out of the US more than 6 months, they will ask you a couple of questions, possibly take your photo and finger prints on a machine in the booth, and basically wave you through.

As far as I know there is no minimum time period between receiving your GC and leaving on a vacation, and if there was it almost certainly would not depend on the category of visa you entered on. There used to be a law saying you couldn't leave the US for a minimum period after receiving citizenship, but even that has been struck down.

DON'T PANIC

That is what exactly I did.

After I got my GC, I went back to the Phils. to married the love of my life.

Just don't stay there for more than 6 months since the immigration officer might give you a warning once you return here in the US.

Welcome to the USA and Good luck.

Hi. I would like to ask how long does the process take from filing I-130 for spouse to approval? I'm also a permanent resident, I got married but I haven't filed for my spouse yet. I just want to know how long the process takes. Thank you very much.
