Darnell and other experienced Posters, Should I tell about money transfers in my EOR letter and have my fiance tell about money transfers at the interview? I thought yes, but on the general K1 forum, they are saying no. I sent my fiance money to buy a computer and webcam, so we can Skype. I also sent her money to go to English School and a little to help with a Dentist, which she didn't want to do.Also, she was working making 1500 CNY a month, then when she started going to school and only working evenings, her Boss dropped her pay to 800 CNY a month, so I sent her a little to make up what she lost. Its hard to live on $120 a month, or at least I would find that a problem. To me these are all signs of a relationship.I am an accountant, if I wasn't interested in a relationship, I wouldn't be trying to support her and wasting my money on her. Before I bought her the computer, we talked about an hour a day, now we talk 3 to 5 hours a day. So, bottom line, I am writting a serious EOR letter. Should I include this info or no. Bill

I would not include it in my EOR but if asked at the interview would not lie about it.

At our dec 09 Interview, the Visa Officer asked twice, "how many times I had sent money". My girl answered 5, which was correct. I had sent one time, through a bank wire transfer at Christmas, and four times using Western Union. These 5 times money sent was from Dec 08 to Interview. I did not put info into EOR, but my girl supplied document copies showing money sent. I believe the Visa Officer did not see the bank transfer.

ah - money.

For K-1 folk - many times this is not mentioned, at all, as there is perception of 'buying the fiance', so not to mention it in any EOR.

For CR-1 folk - it's mostly expected - that's yer wife ! You should send her money regardless !

---

anyway - that's my take on it - usually, for K-1 money transfer evidence, it was somehow tied in with 'paying for english classes' and then it got nasty at the interview - along the lines of :

Show us your test scores from the class

You wrote a paper for English Class? May I see it, please?

But - that's extreme, and has happened - reports of it here. No, I'm not trying to scare ya - it's just that concept of 'sending monies' is different, K-1 vs CR-1.

But hey - keep reading around, and I hope you get lots of other responses here from folk , too.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

OK, I get the message. Don't mention it unless asked, but if asked, don't lie about it. Thanks for the responses. This was sure a lot easier in 1994. Bill

My EOR letter didn't mention it per se, however she did have receipts for money as additional evidence an ongoing relationship. She wasn't asked about it.

It's funny i also had her go to the dentist with a little bit of the money, she wasn't thrilled about it either lol i'm not sure what it is exactly but it seems the idea of regular dentist visits isn't there hehe

LDG, yes I bugged her for over 2 months trying to get her to go to a Dentist. She kept putting her hand up to her cheek and wincing in pain. She had a black tooth, and finally I got her to go and he quoted her 30 cny to pull the tooth and about 800cny for a denture. She had the tooth pulled, but she still hasn't decided if she will get the denture or not.I personally haven't been to a dentist since I got out of the Navy in 1979, but my teeth don't hurt.So I really cann't get on her too bad.

I would not mention money transfers. It doesn't help and can hurt. If she's asked about them, sure, tell the truth.
